Born in Shanghai, China, Eugene overcame early challenges living through the war, a concentration camp and being repatriated to Vancouver, BC all before the age of 11. He went on to graduate from UBC Medical School and then on to his father’s (Guy Hugh Chan), alma mater, Northwestern University in Chicago to finish his Dermatological Residency. He was a dedicated patriarch who had a passion for travel, fishing, golf, tennis, bridge and skiing that he passed on and enjoyed with his entire family.

There will be no service by request, however, a Celebration of Life will be held later this year. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Lions Gate Hospital Palliative Care in his memory.
