In Loving memory of Evelyn Watters

September 1, 2018

It is with great sadness that we say farewell to a wonderful, loving Mother survived by daughter Debbie and son Brian and family. Also many loving friends; and some who called her Mum and Grandma.

The family would like to extend a big thank you to Dr. Jennifer Walker, the palliative care team on 7 west for all their love and dedication.
Mom did a lot of volunteer work from when she first moved to Vancouver in 1987; doing meals at the twin towers for seniors for many years, Mom would attend meetings as a mental health advocate with the Medical Health Officer, Director and Managers who were all part of the Mental Health team with the former Lions Gate Hospital/ North Shore Health Region.

At Christmas time she organize volunteers to do wrapping of gifts for patients with mental health issues in hospital, coordinated the bus (via the Capilano Seniors Hub) at her complex for seniors to go out shopping, knitting scarves to raise money for palliative care and the new hospice, donations to the shelter for the homeless, and many more. She always believed to help people in her community and beyond. Mom was a very giving and kind person and always tried to help people.

Mom was proud of her country and loved reading, enjoyed a variety of different music including her Scottish music. She lived by her favourite song by Sir Harry Lauder, “Keep right on to the end of the road”

Should you wish in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the palliative care at Lions Gate Hospital.
