Heather Buckley, Director
Heather is a lifelong North Shore resident. Her father was a teacher in North Vancouver and her mother a nurse at Lions Gate Hospital. After graduating from West Vancouver Secondary Heather attended the University of British Columbia. She and her husband, Peter, married in 1980 and moved to Toronto where their four children were born. They returned to the North Shore in 1990 and became active members in their community. While raising her children, Heather held many volunteer positions, inclusive of Chair of the Parent Advisory Council at Caulfeild Elementary and Secretary for Cypress Park Little League. Heather has been an owner of the Old Spaghetti Factory chain of restaurants for over 25 years. Heather still maintains an active role with this national chain that employs over 1,400 staff and serves more than 2.3 million guests annually. Since 2008, Heather has been an active volunteer for Lions Gate Hospital Foundation. Most recently, she assisted as Co-Chair for the Lions Gate Hospital Gala, helping to raise over $1 million dollars in both 2014 and 2015. In 2014, Heather was one of 10 women who founded the Women’s Giving Circle, which focuses on unique North Shore-based projects with an emphasis on health care in the community.
