Dr. Sylvie Galindo, Medical Staff Representative

Sylvie Galindo has been working as an internal medicine specialist at Lions Gate Hospital since completing her residency training in July 2017. Sylvie attended the University of Western for her undergraduate degree, obtaining a Bachelors of Science in Genetics and Psychology with Honours. Sylvie stayed in London, Ontario and obtained her Medical Degree (M.D.) from the University of Western. Upon graduating medical school, Sylvie commenced her residency training in general surgery at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC. After three years she decided to make the switch into the internal medicine residency program at UBC in order to follow her passion. When Sylvie is not on service at Lions Gate Hospital, she sees patients at her outpatient clinic in North Vancouver and travels to Yellowknife several times per year where she does both inpatient and clinic work at the Stanton Territorial Hospital. Sylvie has an interest in obesity medicine and works at an interdisciplinary weight management and diabetes clinic in Coquitlam. Sylvie is currently working on obtaining her American Board of Obesity Medicine certification. Outside of work, Sylvie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and literature. She is the mother of a 4-year old boy, and a new baby daughter.
