Description: Douglas Coupland is a highly renowned artist and author. He has written 13 novels including, the 1991 international bestseller Generation X: Tales for an Accelerated Culture, and he has also contributed to The New York Times. Additionally, he has written and performed for England's Royal Shakespeare Company. In 2000, Coupland amplified his visual art production and had two separate museum retrospectives at the Vancouver Art Gallery, The Royal Ontario Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art, Munich’s Villa Stücke, and Rotterdam. Coupland is an Officer of the Order of Canada, a member of the Order of British Columbia, a Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, and receiver of the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Literary Excellence.
