Communications Coordinator (FT/Hybrid)

POSITION SUMMARY

To support the creation, production and distribution of print, video and electronic marketing, PR and communications materials in support of LGH Foundation campaigns and events.

The ideal candidate combines strong administrative, time management, organizational skills with a creative mind set. They will demonstrate a good eye for detail and accuracy and possess excellent written and verbal communications skills. The Communications Coordinator will attend and support a range of fundraising events. The successful candidate will also be in regular contact with patients and clinical staff and must be able to carry out their duties with tact and compassion.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Administrative Support:

  • Manages the content calendar for general communications.
  • Schedules interviews and filming opportunities.
  • Distributes printed and email communications.
  • Manages content on notice boards, TV’s and communications materials throughout LGH.
  • Participates in proof-reading and editing as required.
  • Liaises with printers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Miscellaneous administrative tasks as required.

Research & Writing:

  • Conducts research for donor profiles and for descriptions of equipment and medical conditions/treatments.
  • Writes copy for newsletters, donor letters, blogs, email marketing and social posts.
  • Updates website and internal screens as required.
  • Creates presentations for events.

Design:

  • Prepares graphics for social posts, website, posters, invitations, internal TV screens, including basic picture editing.
  • Provides information and direction to contract designers.
  • Creates event signage.

Photography & Video Production:

  • Takes photos around LGH for social and print materials.
  • Creates videos for campaigns, events and social channels.
  • Collects and uploads photos from office camera and staff phones to shared drive.
  • Conducts photo research for online and print publications.
  • Collects and files event and partner logos.
  • Manages cloud filing and storage for shared projects.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Post-secondary education in communications, marketing or a related field.
  • Related work experience an asset.
  • Excellent writing and research skills; strong organizational skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Must be familiar with WordPress, social media platforms and dashboards, Adobe Creative Suite and social media measuring, monitoring and reporting tools.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; able to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-moving environment while evaluating and changing priorities as required.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Reports to the Communications Manager with supervision from the Vice President.
