It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gordon Ludvig Nielsen on Sept 15, 2025, a man whose life was a testament to kindness, patience, courage, love and unwavering compassion. Gordon was a devoted husband to Zahra Ramji, a loving father to his sons Dustin (Cynthia Mennear) and Nikolas (Jennifer Hunter), a cherished grandfather to Rowan and Wyatt and loving brother to his sister Margo LaValley (Glen) and brother David Nielsen (Paula Schwann).

Maria Riley

It is with sad hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Maria Joanna Riley. Maria, age 75 years, died peacefully at Lions Gate Hospital on May 25, 2025 after suffering a stroke. The family wishes to thank everyone involved with Maria’s care in her final days. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Maria’s memory to Lions Gate Hospital Foundation – Neurology.

Douglas MacQuarrie

Douglas Richard MacQuarrie lost his battle with advanced Hodgkin’s lymphoma last Wednesday, March 19th 2025. He was at Lions Gate hospital for over a period of 5 months, in and out. We thank all the nurses and doctors, specifically in Palliative care, that were able to bring some relief to my father.

On March 10, 2025 our mom Mary Beaton passed after a long life. She was born in Aberdeen, Scotland on Dec 4, 1935 and a piece of her heart always remained there despite immigrating to Canada in the early 1960s.
