It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gordon Ludvig Nielsen on Sept 15, 2025, a man whose life was a testament to kindness, patience, courage, love and unwavering compassion. Gordon was a devoted husband to Zahra Ramji, a loving father to his sons Dustin (Cynthia Mennear) and Nikolas (Jennifer Hunter), a cherished grandfather to Rowan and Wyatt and loving brother to his sister Margo LaValley (Glen) and brother David Nielsen (Paula Schwann)
A geologist by profession, and a gentle giant by nature, Gordon stood tall in both stature and spirit. He was a talented chef whose creations were enjoyed by many. Gordon loved a home and garden project and was the first call of many friends and family who needed a hand.
He faced his long battle with cancer with incredible fortitude and grace, never losing his warmth or his ability to bring comfort to others. Gordon’s love for all was constant, matched only by their affection for him. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
