1930 – 2024
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Leon, our devoted patriarch on February 6, 2024 in his 94th year. Born in Medicine Hat, Alberta, he left us in North Vancouver, where after working countrywide, he made his family home with his beloved wife of 53 years, Polly, who predeceased him in 2012.
Peter was the youngest son of four, born to Cynthia Marietta Lightbody (Anderson) and Walley Pearson Lightbody, on the date of April 18th, 1966 at Lions Gate Hospital. Peter’s elder siblings are Catherine, Michael and Sarah. Peter spent his childhood living on the shores of West Vancouver where he loved collecting sea glass, casting for cod off the rocky turf and floating about the bay on old logs.
We are heartbroken to announce Lizanne’s peaceful passing at home in Lions Bay, BC on the evening of October 6, 2022 with her husband, Brian, and family members by her side.
Therese, also known as Mom, Nana, Teresa, Tess, and Thez, took her last breath on Sunday, August 14th in North Vancouver at Berkley Care Centre. This was her home of the past 9 years and where she shared a room with our dad, Mario. She died at age 81 from the end stages of Alzheimer’s disease.

In loving memory of John C. Gustafson, who passed away on March 28, 2022 at the age of 85. John was a well-respected architect, amateur yacht designer, lifelong sailor and gifted storyteller. He and his wife, Mickey were long-time supporters of Lions Gate Hospital, and his family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care he received from the doctors and nurses at Lions Gate Hospital and the North Shore Hospice. John will be remembered as a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend and mentor, who brightened our lives with his stories, his wit and wisdom, and the love he shared with us all.
